Private luxury residential and EMI care home for the elderly

The home is situated in Ecclesfield, Sheffield, a stone’s throw from shops, local amenities and public transport and is easily reached by bus from the city centre. It’s proximity to the M1, makes it easily accessible from both the North and South of the country.

Nightingale is a spacious and stylish Care Home, registered with the Quality Care Commission to accommodate forty residents in thirty nine bedrooms. The majority boast en- suite facilities and all are fully equipped with telephone and television points, vanity basins, central heating and a high- tech nurse call system.

Our elegant, well appointed dining room and plush, comfortable lounge overlook the charming landscaped gardens and lush, green playing fields beyond. The beautiful grounds outside are perfect for enjoying the fresh air and delightful, picturesque surroundings. Residents are also welcome to take advantage of several sitting areas, a quiet lounge, hairdressing salon, large passenger lift, a number of assisted and unassisted bathrooms and off- street parking with level access.

Nightingale is famous for the gourmet meals prepared by the chef every day. The appetising, tasty and nutritious menu at Nightingale provides our residents with a healthy and varied diet. Specific dietary requirements and residents’ preferences are catered for. Meals are served in our lovely dining room but residents can dine in their own rooms if they wish.

The dedication and devotion of our highly-trained staff has established our reputation as an exceptionally ‘friendly and caring’ home. Our residents’ quality of life is greatly enhanced by the comfortable, warm and safe environment that Nightingale provides.

Our residents’ happiness and serenity is of paramount importance. Care programmes and activities at Nightingale are designed accordingly, to support individuality and independence. Each resident is encouraged to exercise choice in all aspects of their care. With our open visiting policy, guests are most welcome at all times.

The care and compassion shown to residents by all staff are second to none. Staff take the time and trouble to really get to know the residents and are attentive to their individual needs. They treat residents with dignity and respect and do their very best to engage them in conversation and the many diverse activities on offer. There is a strong sense of community at Nightingale. As well as the friendliness of the staff, the atmosphere and decor give a sense of a family home rather than a care home. Visitors are made to feel welcome at any time of day. No matter how busy staff are, they always make time to talk to family members and address any concerns they may have. The home always appears well staffed, and I feel confident about Mum’s safety. Mum’s dietary needs are well catered for, and she always looks smart and well cared for. The communal areas and Mum’s room are always spotless. Overall I am delighted with the care received by Mum.

Care!

The prime objective of our home is to promote and foster health and wellbeing. On admission of each resident, an assessment of need is performed by a senior member of the care team, from which a Care Plan is created.
