Activities 11th – 15th December 23

Monday 11th December 23

Residents had a nice morning playing Land A letter Quiz and in the afternoon a couple enjoyed a trip to the local church and had great time playing games and brought the trophies home again!

Tuesday 12th December 23

A few residents braved the cold and visited our Arcade this morning. Those that couldn’t face the breeze enjoyed playing games in the nice warm lounge.  In the afternoon we played noughts and crosses whilst listening to some Christmas songs.

Wednesday 13th December 23

Julie came to pamper the residents this morning and painted their nails in festive colours and of course we do not discriminate in our building…even Ernest joined in to have his nails painted ready for the big day.  We had fun playing with a singing and tumbling cat that was very kindly donated by a relative and residents played basketball and did chair exercises using resistance bands.

Thursday 14th December 23

This morning a few residents enjoyed playing Dominoes with the help of some relatives. This afternoon we went to Devonshire Arms pub and had a lovely Christmas meal, and the singer was brilliant. We even had a little win on the raffle!

Friday 15th December 23

Well what a busy but fantastic day and night we all had at Nightingales. We spent the morning being pampered at the hairdressers followed by an afternoon of having our faces painted and getting our Christmas jumpers on ready for the Party.

Our 1st Christmas Party since Lockdown this evening was amazing and it is thanks to all the staff who helped bring it together and of course the night wouldn’t have been what it was without all the Relatives who joined us to celebrate.

A MASSIVE thank you to Keeley May who came to sing and stayed well over her time to introduced Santa and announce winners of the quiz and raffle.

Santa was absolutely brilliant with both the kids and residents and we were so lucky and thankful that he gave up his time to join us and all from the goodness of his heart (and some buffet lol)

From the sale of raffle tickets and entry fee we raised a massive £437.00 which has been donated to our friends at Woolley Wood School.  We presented it to them on Monday and they couldn’t be anymore grateful, so again THANK YOU to everyone who made it all possible.
