Nightingales started the week enjoying the sunshine outside in the garden whilst having a residents meeting. We talked about how the garden is coming on but is still work in progress and some residents asked to see more colour in the way of flowers. Residents also discussed care, food and activities amongst other things.
This week residents joined in to play bowling, dominoes, animal bingo, target, jigsaws and art and crafts. Keep fit class also went down well and those that can’t play or didn’t feel like it still benefitted from watching others play as it’s good for stimulation and social interaction.
A fun day was had playing with various different sensory items. Residents were popping, pulling, twisting, swinging and shaking fidget toys, scarves and pom poms. This was great for helping to keep bones, muscles and joints strong, helps reduce anxiety and promotes a better night’s sleep.
Unfortunately, our entertainer who was booked to come and sing this week has come down with Coronavirus but all was not lost. Jane was on hand with her microphone and Alexa and residents had great time singing songs of their choice.
